Rudy Giuliani suspended from practicing law over false statements made about 2020 presidential election results

Rudy Giuliani has been suspended from practicing law in New York over false statements made to overturn the 2020 Presidential results.

An appeals court heard that there was “uncontroverted evidence” that Giuliani made false statements to the courts.

“This country is being torn apart by continued attacks on the legitimacy of the 2020 election and of our current president, Joseph R Biden,” an attorney disciplinary committee said.

“The hallmark of our democracy is predicated on free and fair elections. False statements intended to foment a loss of confidence in our elections and resulting loss of confidence in government generally damage the proper functioning of a free society.”

This ruling will prevent Giuliani from practicing law in New York.

Giuliani spoke for Donald Trump after the 2020 election, claiming that the presidential election was rigged and that Trump won the election.
