Brazil reports over 115,000 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours

In the space of 24 hours, Brazil has reported 115,228 new Covid-19 cases which is a new record for daily Covid-19 infections in Brazil.

Being the second worst-hit country during the pandemic, Brazil continues to deal with a third wave of the virus.

The country’s death toll now stands at 507,109 after a further 2,393 deaths were reported yesterday.

A total of 18,169,881 confirmed cases have been reported in Brazil with some specialists describing the figure as an underestimate.

Brazil’s daily infections have been on the rise for over a month while the death rate has remained at around 2,000 per day since last week.

President of the National Council of Health Secretaries Carlos Lula stated that the country is already in the third wave with the continual acceleration in the number of cases.
