Denmark’s Christian Eriksen has been discharged from hospital following a successful heart operation.
Last Saturday, Eriksen collapsed on the pitch during Denmark’s opening Euro 2020 fixture against Finland.
Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest and required CPR and the use of a defibrillator to restart his heart.
He has been fitted with a implantable cardioverter defibrillator, otherwise known as a heart starter.
Eriksen paid a visit to his teammates today, before returning home to his family to rest.
“Thank you for the massive number of greetings, it has been incredible to see and feel,” Eriksen said.
“The operation went well and I am doing well under the circumstances.”
“It was great to see the guys again after the fantastic game they played last night,” he continued.
“No need to say that I will be cheering them on Monday against Russia.”
