Denmark’s Christian Eriksen to be fitted with heart starter implant

Christian Eriksen will have a heart starter implanted following his collapse in Denmark’s opening Euro 2020 fixture against Finland.

Eriksen shocked everyone around the world after he collapsed and required CPR and a defibrillator to restart his heart.

“After Christian has been through different heart examinations it has been decided that he should have an ICD,” his doctor said.

“This device is necessary after cardiac attack due to rhythm disturbances.”

“We encourage everybody to give Christian and his family peace and privacy the following time,” he concluded.

There are strong doubts in the football community whether Eriksen will ever play football professionally again.
