Major search operation underway for missing Irishman in US

A major search operation is underway for a missing Irishman in Wyoming, US.

27-year-old Cian McLaughlin was last seen hiking in Wyoming a week ago.


Park Rangers said that Cian McLaughlin was last seen at 2:30pm on Tuesday June 8th and was hiking to an unknown destination.

He was wearing a tank top, shorts, a bucket hat and sunglasses when he was last seen.

McLaughlin is approximately 6ft tall and roughly 180 pounds weight.


After not appearing for work on Thursday, he was reported missing.

His vehicle was subsequently discovered at Grand Teton National Park.

His planned route is unknown, and search operations began yesterday and are running into today.

The mass search operation includes; forty park staff, four local search and rescue teams and aerial operations are also being undertaken.
