COVID-19: 242 new confirmed cases in Ireland

The Department of Health has confirmed a further 242 cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

Data relating to deaths associated with the virus has not been released due to the cyber attack on the HSE.


The Department confirmed that there are currently 67 patients in Irish hospitals with Covid-19, with 23 of these in ICU.

Yesterday, there were 62 patients in hospital with Covid-19, with 22 of these in intensive care units.

In Northern Ireland, There has been a further 87 new cases of Covid-19.


No further people diagnosed with the virus have died.
