Man in his 60s hospitalised following assault by group that left him unconscious in Dublin

A man in his 60s was left unconscious after being attacked by a group of indviduals in Dublin.

The incident occurred at Fairview Strand in Dublin 3 last night shortly before midnight.


Gardaí were called to the scene after 11pm following reports that a group of individuals were assaulting a lone man.

Gardaí found the victim unconscious upon arrival at Fairview Strand.

The man was immediately taken to the Mater Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.


A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Clontarf Garda Station.

Gardaí have said investigations are ongoing.
