Driver fails to remain at the scene of Galway collision

Investigations are ongoing by gardaí following a two-vehicle collision that occurred in Galway earlier today. Following the collision, two people, a man and a woman, were taken to University Hospital Galway where they are currently being treated for serious injuries.

The man, aged in his 50s, was riding a motorcycle while the woman, aged in her 30s, was the pillion passenger. The incident occurred when the motorcycle had collided with a car in the Loughrea area just after 2am.


The driver of the car that was involved in the collision failed to remain at the scene of the crash.

A technical examination of the scene is underway with diversions in place. Gardaí are urging anyone who may have any information in relation to the incident or may have witnessed the incident, to come forward to them.
