Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly receives first Covid-19 vaccine

Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has received his first Covid-19 vaccine.

Donnelly received the first jab at the Shoreline Centre in Greystones, Wicklow.


The Minister thanked everyone involved outside the Shoreline Centre after getting his vaccine.

The Covid-19 vaccine portal also opened for people aged 40-44 this week, with those aged 41 invited to register today.

53% of the adult population in Ireland has now received their first Covid-19 vaccine, 25% are fully vaccinated.


Meanwhile, there has been 416 new cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

74 patients are in hospital with Covid-19, 29 people are in intensive care units.

There has been concern in recent days with a surge of Covid-19 cases in Limerick and surrounding areas.

Health teams across the country have been appealing to the people of Limerick to remain vigilant and adhere to public health guidelines.
