Extra Toilets and bins to be added across Dublin City ahead of this Bank Holiday weekend

Dublin City will have extra toilets and bins scattered across the city this Bank Holiday weekend as crowds expected to congregate.

Last weekend, the city came under scrutiny for not having adequate toilet and bins across the region, despite encouraging people to have an outdoor summer.

Lord Mayor of Dublin, Hazel Chu, announced the news via Twitter.

The toilets will be open between 10am and 11pm daily and will be free for anyone to use.

Dublin City Council confirmed that there will be 150 portaloo toilets, 54 large bins and 80 barrel bins added across the city.

Some politicians have expressed concern over adding these facilities, saying it will encourage large crowds to congregate.

However, last weekend an abundance of litter was left on the streets of Dublin following large crowds congregating.

Galway City is also adding toilets and bins across the city this weekend.

Dublin City Council have added a list of the locations of these facilities.
