Motorcyclist dies following collision in Galway

A man in his 30s has died following a road collision in Galway yesterday evening.

The collision, involving a motorbike and a car, occurred on the R336 between Inverin and Spiddal.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was subsequently taken to Galway University Hospital to undergo a post-mortem examination at a later date. A man and a woman in their 20s, who were travelling in the car, were hospitalised as a precaution.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or is in possession of dash-cam footage of the R336 between the hours 7:30pm and 8:30pm is asked to contact Salthill Garda Station 091 514 720, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
