Missing teenager ‘Svetlana Murphy’ has been found safe and well in Belfast where she was reunited with her family last night.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested by the PSNI and is currently assisting them with their inquiries.

The 14-year-old went missing from her home in Blackrock, Co Louth on Tuesday. It was determined by the investigation that she was being accompanied by 18-year-old ‘Nojus Maculevicius’ from Dundalk.

They were both spotted in Newry on the 19th of April and were then spotted in Belfast yesterday.

The Child Rescue Ireland alert system, launched in 2012, was used to assist the search but has since been cancelled upon her discovery. An Garda Síochána have thanked the public, media and other agencies for their assistance.
