Two nursing home staff test positive for Covid-19

Two staff members at the Dealgan House Nursing Home in Dundalk, Co Louth have tested positive for Covid-19.

A routine serial test revealed that the two staff, who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, had tested positive for the virus.

It is understood that the two staff members, who received their second dose back in February, displayed no symptoms. Although the two staff members were fully vaccinated, they can still carry the virus but are just protected from severe symptoms.

All residents at the nursing home have also been fully vaccinated and it is understood that all visits to the nursing home have been temporarily suspended.
