Murder investigation underway after woman is fatally stabbed in Dublin

A murder investigation is underway by gardaí after a 25-year-old woman was fatally stabbed in Finglas, Co Dublin. The young woman was discovered with serious injuries in a house on Melville Drive shortly after 2pm this afternoon.

As gardaí arrived at the scene, a man was seen jumping from a balcony and fleeing the house.

Gardaí then found the woman in a serious condition inside the house who was subsequently taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where she was pronounced dead a short time after.

A man in his 20s has been arrested and is currently being questioned in Finglas Garda Station. Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information in relation to the incident to contact Finglas Garda Station at 01 666 7500, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
