Elderly man dies after falling from two-storey building in Cork

An elderly man has died after falling from a two-storey building in Cork yesterday afternoon.

The man, aged in his 70s, was working on the roof of the building with a power washer when he slipped and fell on to the concrete path below.

It is believed that the man suffered injuries to his neck, chest and head and was subsequently assisted by locals who witnessed the accident.

The scene was attended by gardaí, paramedics and the Irish Community Rapid Response air ambulance; however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s body was removed to Cork University Hospital to undergo a post-mortem examination.
