Evictions can recommence from the 23rd of April

From the 23rd of April, landlords will be permitted to carry out evictions against tenants as the 5km rule is lifted.

Tenants were temporarily protected from evictions due to the 5km restriction being in place but it still allowed landlords to serve a notice of termination between December 31st and the 12th of April.

Termination dates are to be recalculated as notice periods were also temporarily halted with an extra 10-day grace period being factored in for the dates.

The number of days that a tenant had on their notice period on the 31st of December will resume after the 12th of April.
