One millionth vaccine dose to be administered in the State today

The State’s one millionth vaccine dose is to be administered today according to HSE Chief Executive Paul Reid.

Mr Reid added that 8% of the population has now been fully vaccinated with nearly 19% receiving their first dose.

Adding that the future is now brighter, Mr Reid stated that 98% of the vaccines delivered to the State this week were also administered within the same week.

The latest figures from the HSE also reveal a drop in Covid-19 cases at hospitals which now stands at 220 with 54 people receiving treatment in ICU.
