Works are to begin next week in Cork to facilitate permanent pedestrian streets which have been temporarily pedestrianised for outdoor dining.
On the 12th of April, work will be carried out to resurface Caroline Street, Pembroke Street, Oliver Plunkett Street, Cook Street and Maylor Street. Work on the remaining streets will follow after.
The streets will allow for maximum access for pedestrians with traffic management operatives onsite during daytime hours.
Efforts were made last year in Cork City which allowed the area to be enjoyed in a safe way which included the temporary pedestrianisation of certain city streets along with the waiver of outdoor seating licence fees which would allow up to 1,000 residents or visitors to eat and drink outdoors.
