Hotel quarantine for 26 more countries begins

From 4am this morning, people from 26 more countries can enter Ireland following a mandatory hotel quarantine.

With 33 countries already on the list, people from the 26 new high-risk countries must also quarantine for 12 days at a designated hotel.

Those arriving from the listed high-risk countries, predominantly South American and African, will have to pay €1,875 for 12 nights, €625 for a second person over the age of 12 and €36 for children aged four to 12.

A negative test after ten days may reduce the time spent in quarantine; however, a positive test may extend the quarantine time but will be paid for by the State for anything over 12 days.
