Discussions are to be made later this week in relation to extending the mandatory hotel quarantine list.
The discussions will be highlighting the issue of sufficient staff being available for the hotels as well as the legality of extending the list to more EU countries.
Recently, the government was planning to extend the quarantine list which was met with opposition due to large numbers of Irish people living in certain countries that were being recommended.
Anyone arriving in Ireland from a country on the list will have to pre-book accommodation for 12 nights and must also pay for their stay as of 4am tomorrow.
The time in which a person must quarantine can be reduced if an individual receives a negative test on day 10.
The discussions are expected to take place on Wednesday and Thursday between officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Health.
