UK reports 30 blood clot cases following AstraZeneca vaccine

British regulators have reported 30 cases of rare blood clots that have occurred following the administering of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Although health officials still state that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the risks, no such reports have been made with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in regards to blood clotting.

The EU’s drug regulating agency has stated that no link between the blood clots and the vaccine has been found; however, some European countries have restricted access to the vaccine.

Although a link has not been proven, it is still possible and will require further analysis according to the European Medicines Agency.
