HPSC updates guidelines for fully vaccinated people

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has updated its guidelines for people who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Although stating that the vaccine protects people from symptomatic infection and severe disease, there is a lack of evidence in regards to virus transmission with fully vaccinated people.

Fully vaccinated people would be categorised as receiving their second AstraZeneca dose 15 days ago, second Pfizer-BioNTech dose seven days ago, and second modern dose 14 days ago.

Further recommendations state that a fully vaccinated asymptomatic individual from one household only is permitted to meet another asymptomatic fully vaccinated individual without the necessity of a mask or social distancing in a household setting.

Fully vaccinated people have also been advised to not visit the household of someone who isn’t vaccinated.
