Phased easing of restrictions to be expected after April 5th

NPHET are to meet with the government today to discuss recommendations for the easing of restrictions after the 5th of April.

It is expected that the government will be considering easing the 5km limit, larger groups will be permitted to meet outdoors, along with outdoor sports being permitted.

Later on this evening, the Cabinet sub-committee on Covid-19, which will be attended by Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn, Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar, Transport Minister Eamon Ryan along with other senior servants and ministers, will be discussing what will be possible in terms of easing restrictions.

It is expected that the Taoiseach will publicly address the nation at approximately 6pm this evening.
