At least 32 dead following two-train collision in Egypt

At least 32 people have died and 84 injured following a train crash near the town of Tahta in Egypt.

The collision, involving two trains, occurred after the emergency brake was triggered on one of the locomotives which caused the second train that was travelling in the same direction to crash from behind.

The rail authority stated that the individual who triggered the emergency brake is unknown and that further investigations are being conducted.

The collision led to the destruction of two carriages while another carriage overturned.
