Man charged over fire at Monaghan garda station

Seamus Treanor (34) appeared before Cavan District Court today after being charged with setting fire to Emyvale Garda Station in Monaghan back in the year 2019.

The court heard that the properties had to be completely demolished and rebuilt as a result of the fire which cost approximately €250,000.

An application for bail was made but refused and as a result, Me Treanor was remanded in custody to Cloverhill Prison.

His next court appearance will be before Monaghan District Court on the 31st of March.
