Couple and infant girl hospitalised following hit-and-run in Mullingar

An investigation is underway after a couple and an infant girl were hospitalised for injuries that they sustained following a hit-and-run incident in Mullingar.

The incident occurred on the Link Road at approximately 5:30pm yesterday evening when a car mounted the footpath and seriously injured a man and a woman in their 30s before leaving the scene. The infant received minor injuries following the incident.

The three of them were hospitalised at Midland Regional Hospital and currently remain there at this time.

A man has presented himself to gardaĆ­ and is assisting them with their investigation.
