Four women injured following stabbing incident in Belfast

An investigation is underway by the PSNI after four women were injured following a stabbing incident in Belfast City Centre.

The reports began at approximately 2am this morning when a man was attacked and a woman was stabbed in York Street.

When the PSNI had arrived at the scene, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service was already present. Four women had reported injuries as a result of being stabbed while the man sustained minor injuries to his hand.

Two of the injured women, aged in their 20s, were treated at the scene while the other two women, one in her 20s with the other in her teens, were taken to hospital.

According to the PSNI, two women in their late 20s have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder while a 20-year-old man has been arrested for possession of an offensive weapon. All three remain in custody.
