Post-mortem examination requested after man found dead in Cork flat

Following the discovery of a man’s body that was found in a flat in Cork, gardaĆ have requested a post-mortem to be carried out as a precaution.

The man, aged in his 60s, was found dead by relatives at his home in Mallow yesterday evening.

The man lived alone and had not been seen for several days. His body was moved to Cork University Hospital to establish a cause of death as he had received some injuries.

An examination of the scene revealed that there had been no sign of a forced entry or a struggle in the flat.
