Approximately 100 patients with Covid-19 are to be evacuated from intensive care units located in Paris as hospitals struggle to keep up with a surge in cases.
It is hoped that this transfer will prevent the need for another lockdown. According to a government spokesman, the patients will be transferred to regions that have not been as badly hit as Paris has by the pandemic.
Adding that the government will take whatever decision is necessary, they are doing everything that they can to avoid more restrictive measures.
Although a 6pm curfew remains in place throughout France, the average daily number of new Covid-19 cases continues to climb with over 30,000 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours along with 174 fatalities.
