Nine people die from Covid-19 at Meath nursing home despite vaccination

St Joeseph’s Community Nursing Unit in Trim, Co Meath has reported nine Covid-19 deaths following a post-vaccination outbreak.

The first doses of the vaccine were administered on the 12th and 13th of January.

Approximately 1 week later, on the 20th of January, 25 residents tested positive for Covid-19.

The HSE stated that people do not have full immunity until the second dose is administered.

The second dose was issued on the 2nd of February. Those who were infected with Covid-19 cannot be vaccinated for 28 days.
