AstraZeneca cuts EU vaccine supply again

AstraZeneca has cut its vaccine deliveries to the EU to 30 million doses in the first quarter which is 30% of its contractual obligations and also a 25% drop from promises that were made last month.

It has been stated that this cut has been caused as a result of difficulties in moving vaccines through global supply chains.

Recently, a handful of countries in the EU have suspended deliveries from AstraZeneca due to reports of blood clots with Thailand being the most recent country to join the list.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) stated that severe allergies should be added to the list of possible side effects following 41 reports of possible allergic reactions seen among 5 million vaccinations in the UK.
