EU approves Johnson and Johnson vaccination

The European Medicines Agency has approved the single-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccination which is the fourth vaccine to be approved by the bloc.

Up to 200 million doses are promised to be delivered to the EU this year with 600,000 to arrive in Ireland between April and June.

The vaccine has been described as a game-changer as it only requires a single dose.

According to the European Medicines Agency, a clinical trial of 44,000 people found that the vaccine was effective for use.
