Teenager injured following shooting in Derry

PSNI are investigating a shooting in Northern Ireland where a teenager was injured after being shot in the leg.

The 18-year-old was shot yesterday in an alleyway in the Curryneirin area of Derry.

The PSNI received reports of the shooting just before 9:10pm. The teenager was hospitalised shortly after the incident with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detective Sergeant Richard Donnell stated that an investigation into the incident is ongoing and added, “We know the majority of people are working hard to keep their community safe and to protect the NHS, yet these violent criminals are endangering lives and increasing pressures on our emergency services and frontline workers.”
