Vaccinations for very high-risk people to begin early March

People with underlying conditions that put them at a very high risk of death or severe Covid-19 will be administered their vaccinations by early March after being moved up to 4th on the cohort group.

This reprioritised vaccine schedule will see the inoculation of those aged 16-69 with serious underlying conditions including cancer, chronic kidney disease or those who are immuno-compromised.

Vaccines for people who have the above conditions will begin on the 8th of March according to the Chair of the vaccine taskforce Professor Brian McCraith.

The HSE is currently working on the best locations, referrals and processes for vaccinating vulnerable people.
