100,000 Covid-19 vaccinations to be given across Rep. of Ireland next week

Preparations are under way for the ramping up of the vaccination roll-out with 100,000 doses due to be given next week.

80,000 people were given their first dose in the past week, with the initiation of the community vaccination programme.

People with underlying health conditions are to be moved up the priority list, with clarification on this matter expected following a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

Ireland’s Covid-19 Task Force confirmed that Ireland is in line to be giving one million vaccinations a month in April, May and June.

“It’s exciting times, we’ll have well over 3 million vaccines administered in over April, May and June,” Professor Brian MacCraith said.
