People who have underlying health conditions are to be moved up the vaccination list under a plan that was being worked on by the government this weekend.
There were more than 370,000 people moved up the list between the ages of 18-64 on the initial government list but it has been decided by the government to change this as many people in this group have not left their homes due to fears of the virus.
A Cabinet meeting in relation to the current situation is likely to take place on Tuesday.
Those with health conditions may be listed as the next priority group after those over the age of 70 have received their vaccinations.
The criteria for moving up the list will be based on clinical advice and evidence of a higher risk of severe illness and will not include all underlying health conditions.
