Number of patients with Covid-19 in hospital continues to decrease

According to the latest figures from the HSE, the number of patients being treated for Covid-19 is continuing to decrease.

However, the number of people being treated in Intensive Care Units is a bit slower to decline according to the figures.

There were 169 patients in ICU on Friday, which is down from 178 patients last weekend. As of 8pm on Friday, there were 894 patients in hospital with Covid-19, this is down from 950 the day before.

Health officials have stated that there is a time lag between the decrease in hospitalisations and ICU admissions which means that there is a delay in the decrease of ICU numbers compared to hospitalisations.
