US President Joe Biden is to reimpose a Covid-19 travel ban on most non-US citizens who have been in Britain, Ireland, Brazil and most of Europe.
This information comes from a White House official who stated that the new administration is ramping up its pandemic response. The ban will also be extended to those who have been to South Africa.
This action follows concerns that new Covid-19 variants are beginning to establish themselves in the US. In an attempt to tackle the current Covid-19 situation in the US, Biden has made stricter mask-warning rules and has ordered the quarantine of people who enter the country. In regards to the situation in the US, Mr Biden stated, “We’re in a national emergency. It’s time we treated it like one,”.
