One arrest made after woman is seriously assaulted in Dublin

Gardaí have arrested a youth after a woman was seriously injured following an assault in Dublin city centre on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred along the pedestrian walkway between George’s Dock and Custom House Quay at the IFSC. The woman, aged in her 40s, was robbed and assaulted which left her with serious injuries.

She was taken to the Mater Hospital where she remains in serious condition. The youth is being detained at Store Street Garda Station and investigations are currently ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault or have any information in regards to the incident, to contact Store Street Garda Station at 01 666 8000, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
