Met Éireann issues snow and ice warning for entire country

The entire country has been issued a Status Yellow snow and ice warning that will come into effect tomorrow at 6pm and will remain so until midday on Sunday.

This follows an earlier warning that was issued for Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo.

There have been warnings issued for fall of hail, sleet and snow, along with snow and icy conditions.

A Status Yellow weather warning has also been issued for Northern Ireland which will remain in effect until 10:30am tomorrow. Areas in the northwest of the country are to experience temperatures fall as low as -2C, as well as 3cm of snow.

Met Éireann forecaster Gavin Gallagher stated that a wintry weekend is to be expected.
