St Patrick’s Day parade cancelled for the second time

St Patrick’s Day festival organisers have stated that the event will not be going ahead this year due to the current pandemic.

A special online TV channel called ‘SPF TV’ will be holding virtual events as an alternative.

The event was also cancelled last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The festival’s Marketing and Communications Director ‘Aileen Galvin’ stated, “A rich and dynamic programme of festival events, created by hundreds of artists, musicians, performers, makers, creators, arts and live events workers and community organisations across Ireland, will run on the St Patrick’s Festival TV online channel over six days and nights”.

The virtual celebrations will be broadcasted to a potential audience of 80 million people.
