The Irish government plans to vaccinate 700,000 people by the end of March according to the Minister for Health ‘Stephen Donnelly’.
Those who will receive these vaccinations will be on the top three groups on the prioritisation list; those in long-term residential care (staff and residents), frontline healthcare workers and those over 70.
In the second quarter of the year, the government plans to vaccinate 1.5 million people and more than that again in the third quarter.
The minister added that these plans are not guaranteed and will depend on vaccine supplies and delivery schedules.
