Cabinet considering Leaving Cert students return to school from Monday

The Cabinet is considering to allow Leaving Cert students to return to school from Monday.

Minister for Education Norma Foley is arguing for the option to allow Leaving Cert students to attend school from Monday for three days a week.

The Cabinet will be meeting this afternoon to sign-off on a range of urgent measures which will include the closure of schools.

It is understood that the Department of Education has been working on the logistics involved in getting this proposal to work in a practical manner.
