Scotland to impose full Covid-19 lockdown at midnight tonight

From midnight, Scotland will enter a full Covid-19 lockdown with people ordered to stay at home according to First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

With the exception of essential purposes, people will face a legal requirement to stay at home, Ms Sturgeon stated while speaking to the Scottish parliament.

Describing the situation as “extremely dangerous”, Ms Sturgeon stated that schools will stay shut until February. Schools will remain open to the children of key workers who cannot work from home, and for vulnerable children.
