From midnight last night, new restrictions on inter-county travel and family gathering restrictions came into effect.
Travel outside your county will be permitted to those returning to their place of residence and those who are travelling for education, work or essential reasons.
Indoor visits will be reduced to just one other household up to the 31st of December. No visitors in private homes/gardens will be permitted from the 1st of January with the exception of essential family reasons such as providing care to children, elderly or vulnerable people, or as part of a support bubble.
Hotels can remain open for essential non-social and non-tourist reasons. Weddings can have up to 25 guests until the 2nd of January, from the 3rd of January only six guests will be permitted.
Funerals can only have ten mourners, religious services will be online and places of worship will be open for private prayer. These restrictions are expected to be in place until at least the 12th of January.
