Man arrested after pulling gun on shopkeeper in Dublin

A man in his 50s was arrested by armed gardaĆ­ after he was accused of pulling a gun on a shopkeeper in the Dorset Street area of Dublin City centre.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:10pm when the man pulled out the gun and threatened staff.

The Armed Support Unit and Air Support Unit were deployed to the incident when the man fled to a nearby street.

Video footage shows the man being approached by gardaĆ­ on Frederick Street where he was brought to the ground and detained. No injuries were reported following the incident and the man was taken to Mountjoy Garda Station where he is currently being detained.
