The Data Protection Commission has fined Twitter €450,000 for GDPR breach.
An investigation began back in January 2019 when Twitter announced that some private tweets had been made public which infringed Article 33(1) and 33(5) of GDPR in relation to failing to notify a breach on time to the DPC and failure to adequately document it.
This is the first time that the Data Protection Commission has penalised a big-tech company like Twitter under European GDPR rules.
