Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange wind warning for Cork and a Status Yellow wind warning for Leinster, Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.
Both alerts will come into effect from 9pm tonight and will remain so until 9am tomorrow.
A Status Orange warning implies that there may be a threat to property and life.
Cork City Council has warned of significant flooding tomorrow morning and urged property owners to put in place flood defences.
