A health and safety review that was conducted at an RTÉ retirement gathering has revealed that there were breaches to the Covid-19 rules.
A total of five breaches were made at the gathering to which Director General Dee Forbes stated should not have happened and apologised in a letter circulated to staff this afternoon.
The breaches included a lack of social distancing and face covering use.
There was also a breach of internal RTÉ Covid-19 protocols for visitors to the site, as well as breaches to the Plan for Living with Covid-19 as there should not have been an indoor gathering that does not form part of RTÉ’s delivery of an essential service.
