The first batch of Covid-19 vaccinations have arrived at Croydon University Hospital in south London as pictures show staff unloading doses of the jabs from boxes before being placed inside freezers.
The arrival of the Pfizer/BioNTech jab has been described as “a momentous occasion” by Joint Chief Pharmacist at Croydon Health Services Louis Coughlan.
From Tuesday, vaccinations will be delivered to dozens of hospital hubs around the UK.
Chief Executive of NHS Providers Chris Hopson stated that people should not expect anything over the next few days because the vast majority of people will be vaccinated during the months January, February and March.
